the revolution! Yesterday, October 5, working class women rallied the streets of Paris, carrying with them guns, cannons, swords and other weaponry. They sang songs declaring death to the queen, our Marie-Antoinette, blaming her for the outrageous prices of food. Despite the violent protest, the queen, our audacious queen, and the royal family did not flee the Palace of Versailles. The violence escalated when the mob broke into the palace, which was guarded by twenty thousand National Guardsmen. Mon Dieu! In spite of the violence, only a couple were killed. At the mob's angry request, the queen bravely stood before them as muskets were pointed at her and her wrongs were listed. The royal family was outcast from the Palace. Lets see if they ever come back!
